I can’t remember when was the time I said I promised Ma’am Miyen that I’d include her wonderful art gallery on my blog. Wait, maybe 8 months ago?
I consider myself as a “newbie” artist however all my high school classmates or school mates knows that I am basically into drawing and all of that stuff and eventually felt being harassed (not serious) about the consistent demands from friends about their caricatures. I couldn’t possibly tally out all the color pencils and crayons that I’ve used and thrown away and the only picture in my mind where I could purchase another set of them is at the mall. But those were the basic supplies for artists.
Not recently, the Morning Light Art Gallery Shop opened its doors for all kinds of artists in Davao City; be it aspiring, late-bloomers, experts or ultra experts. The shop is owned by Ma’am Miyen. She’s an artist serving and dedicating her time for artists too. I first heard about the gallery shop from Josie Denoyo. My wife and I took care of her and consider her as our scholar since she lived with us for several months until she finally settles for a job. I consider this crossroad as a good karma. Because when she left our house and found a job, she invited me to visit the store where she works because she knows that I am an art fan. Josie and her co-staff May introduced me to Ma’am Miyen. The next thing I knew, I was helping them sell their art supplies to artists one fine event in Jacinto Ext. Street.
The Art Gallery shop offers premium items which are (mostly) internationally shipped just for the yearning local artists. There were also hand crafted artist supply bags, various paint brushes, Sakura Koi products, journals and many art tools which I cannot enumerate. Also, they offer free tea of your choice and some heart shaped seed love in a puff plant trivia.
Wanna go there? Just use this map and be sure to visit them on store hours.
